This week the Washington State Department of Corrections resumed in-person visitations at all of its facilities for spouses, parents, children and other loved ones. Approved visitors must go online to schedule their visit. Initially the visits will be limited to one hour, once per month. The purpose of this limitation is to allow as many visitors as possible while also maintaining health and safety standards at each facility. As to be expected, all visitors must pass an in-person COVID-19 screening test. All visiting stations will be cleaned between visitation sessions. It has been over a year since in-person visitations were permitted at DOC facilities. This week’s change in policy has been a welcome relief for many.
