‘Tis the season for a new school year. And as the school year begins, Seattle has ramped up the number of speed zone cameras in and around the city. Ten new cameras are going up this month, and more are anticipated throughout 2025. By the end of the year, it is anticipated that 37 cameras will be activated near a total of 19 school areas. As is well known to drivers, when yellow lights are flashing it means drivers are mandated to slow down to 20 mph in that school specific school zone. Failing to do so will result in a ticket being issued for $237. Be careful out there, both for yourselves and the kiddos.
