Not all states are as tolerant of Marijuana as the states of Washington and Colorado. Missouri sophomore football player Dorial Green-Beckham found that out the hard way after he was arrested in Springfield, Missouri with about a pound of Marijuana in a vehicle he was traveling in with two other men. Green-Beckham was previously charged in October 2012 with Marijuana possession after he and two other teammates were reportedly smoking pot in a campus parking lot. All three players later plead guilty to reduced charges of second-degree trespassing.
Although the passage of I-502 legalized Marijuana in Washington State, there are still situations where its use and/or possession is not legal. More importantly, since Washington Marijuana laws are so new, there will still need to be a lot of interpretation of its scope and application by lawyers, judges and our legislative and judicial systems. Lest it be said, there remains certain situations where Marijuana possession and/or use is illegal.
